The Wilo Group has joined KI Park e.V., an artificial intelligence (AI) innovation network that brings together companies, start-ups, research institutions, and public sector stakeholders to promote AI development in Germany and Europe.
By becoming a member, the multinational technology group aims to contribute to the advancement of AI-driven solutions. “With numerous applications being used to develop and produce our products, systems and solutions, we can already be regarded as a true AI pioneer,” said Oliver Hermes, president and global CEO of the Wilo Group. He cited the company’s Smart Factory at its Dortmund headquarters as a prime example.
Wilo is also supporting the broader AI ecosystem through its technology. “Our pumps and pump systems are used throughout the entire AI value chain, for example, for cooling data centres,” said Peter Glauner, regional CEO and CSO of Wilo Europe.
Dr Florian Schütz, managing director of KI Park e.V., welcomed the new member: “AI is a key technology for ensuring the competitiveness of Germany and Europe as a location for innovation. It is also a tool for tackling the major challenges of our time and achieving our sustainability goals.” He described Wilo as a “valuable partner” that shares the association’s belief in AI’s transformative potential.
