Veolia, a French transnational company with activities in water management, waste management and energy services, is looking to engage with providers of innovative technologies that measure sulphide concentration levels in wastewater.
Sulphides in wastewater are responsible for high nuisances in networks & treatment plants: odours, safety risk for operators, corrosion & damages of the asset. In the last decade, an expansion of these problems has been noticed due to the increase of the sensitivity of populations to any kind of nuisance in their environment & the increase of the networks length.
In order to reduce the production of sulphide, different types of treatment exist. Nevertheless, their implementation is compromised by the fact that it is currently difficult to continuously monitor the concentrations of sulphide in wastewater.
In this context, Veolia is looking for innovative, cost-effective & low-maintenance solutions that are able to provide on-line measurement of sulphides in wastewater.
Innovators from around the world are invited to register on the Synoptica innovation match-making platform and submit their details for an opportunity to pitch to Veolia. Suitable candidates will then be invited to pitch to Veolia, which manages over 7,000 water and wastewater plants worldwide, for a chance to work with them. This could include a supply agreement, licensing, a research contract, or a joint development agreement. The ultimate goal is to establish a win-win collaboration.
Candidates will be assessed on the following criteria:
- What the technology does & a general description of how it operates. Candidates may include a more detailed information if the intellectual property (IP) has been secured appropriately
- How the solution addresses the challenge
- What differentiates the solution from others in the field & unique aspects of the technology
- How the solution overcomes drawbacks of other existing technologies
- Performance or technical data (current or anticipated)
- The Technology Readiness Level (TRL): e.g. proof-of-concept, in-market, IP you may have around the proposed technology
Veolia regularly issues calls for external solutions worldwide. The goal is to find solutions to technological, organizational & usage issues in line with the Group’s strategic areas.
Around the globe, Veolia helps cities & industries to manage, optimize & make the most of their resources. The company provides an array of solutions related to water, energy & materials – with a focus on waste recovery – to promote the transition toward a circular economy.
