“Benefits of Standardised Practices in RO Plant Operations and Troubleshooting” is TÜV SÜD’s Gerald Kresta’s topic at the American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) / American Water Works Association (AWWA) Membrane Technology Conference 2016 in San Antonio, Texas 1 – 4 February. In this annual conference, top-class experts discuss how latest developments in membrane technology can enhance water supply reliability and quality worldwide.
Global demand for water is expected to exceed the supply by 40 percent within the next 15 years. “As desalination becomes a key source for clean water, Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane plants will be an integral part of water supply infrastructure worldwide”, says Gerald Kresta, Assistant Vice President Water Service of TÜV SÜD. To contribute to the development of leading practices for RO membrane plants, TÜV SÜD has organized a half day workshop titled “Trouble Free and Cost Efficient Operation of Reverse Osmosis Plants”. As part of the workshop Gerald Kresta will present on the role of standards and standardized practices in optimising RO Plant operations. Dr. Soubhagya Pattanayak, Principal Engineer of Water Services, will moderate the workshop with speakers from membrane manufacturers, specialty chemical suppliers and consulting engineers sharing information on current advances in technology and case studies. TÜV SÜD is also presenting a poster on “Energy Efficiency Evaluation and Comparison of MF/UF Membranes”, which shows how owners/decision makers can select the right MF/UF membrane for their water treatment systems/plants.
As a trusted partner for the water and wastewater sector, TÜV SÜD has a reputation for independence and impartiality. With their deep interdisciplinary knowledge the experts of TÜV SÜD improve the quality and efficiency of water processes, systems and technologies of their clients.
