Innovyze has announced that the Trinity River Authority of Texas (TRA) has selected InfoWater and InfoWorks ICM SE to manage its water and wastewater systems.
TRA is a conservation and reclamation district providing water and wastewater treatment, along with recreation and reservoir facilities, for municipalities within the nearly 18,000-square-mile Trinity River Basin. TRA owns and operates four water treatment facilities, five wastewater treatment facilities and one recreation project, and also manages water sales from four reservoirs. The National Association of Clean Water Agencies recognized four Trinity River Authority of Texas wastewater treatment systems with Peak Performance Awards. One of the largest, the Central Regional Wastewater System (CRWS), provides wastewater transportation and treatment for twenty cities and approximately 1.2 million people in the Dallas/Fort Worth area including the DFW International Airport. The CRWS includes a 162 MGD wastewater treatment plant and approximately 300 miles of pipelines ranging from 12-inch to 108-inch diameter interceptor pipelines.
“InfoWater and InfoWorks ICM SE are critical components of our regional water and wastewater systems strategy,” said Webster Mangham, Environmental Services Manager for TRA. “The software will help us develop and validate sound and reliable solutions for planning, managing and operating our large and complex water and wastewater networks while best protecting people, property, critical infrastructure and the urban environment.”
Built atop ArcGIS (Esri, Redlands, CA) and winner of the coveted ArcGIS for Desktop Based Application Award, InfoWater seamlessly integrates sophisticated network modeling, predictive analytics, systems dynamics, business planning, and optimization functionality directly within the powerful ArcGIS setting. From fire flow and dynamic water quality simulations, valve criticality and energy cost analysis to pressure zone management and advanced Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm optimization, the software comes equipped with everything water utility owner-operators need to best plan, design, operate, secure and sustain their water transmission and distribution systems.
InfoWorks ICM SE is a fully dynamic sewer network modeling solution that uses a fast, accurate and unconditionally stable implicit numerical solution scheme that provides a high degree of confidence in simulation results. The software can be used to model any complex sanitary, storm and combined sewer system, offering complete hydrology, hydraulic and water quality simulation along with sophisticated real-time control (RTC) modeling capabilities.
“The Innovyze family of smart network modeling and management solutions continues to be the standard for the world’s largest and most prominent water and wastewater utilities,” said Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D., BCEEM, Hon.D.WRE, Dist.D.NE, Dist.M.ASCE, NAE, President, COO and Chief Innovation Officer of Innovyze. “It is especially rewarding to us when a company as distinguished as TRA, a recognized leader in creating sustainable communities, chooses those solutions to help them forward this important work. We’re honored to play a vital role in the Authority’s future achievements.”
