The most anticipated B2B exhibition in the water industry, “Taiwan International Water Week (TIWW),” will be grandly unveiled at Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), Hall 1 from October 13 -15, 2022. Organised by TWTC and co-organised by TAITRA, TIWW focuses on achieving water sustainability with smart technologies and providing an excellent gateway for global enterprises to enter the Taiwan and Asia markets. Companies may apply for exhibits on the platform to search for new business opportunities in water.
It has become a global consensus to cherish natural resources and pursue environmental sustainability. The theme for this year’s Earth Day is “Invest in our planet”, which evokes governments and enterprises around the world to promote and implement “environment, social, governance (ESG)” to realise the sustainable future of a green economy.
Among all natural resources, “water” is both vital for people’s lives and the foundation of economic development. However, according to a United Nations report, Taiwan is listed as the 18th country at risk of water scarcity in the world due to its narrow topography, crowded population, uneven distribution of rainfall, and ever-increasing demands for industrial water.
Therefore, Taiwan’s government has drawn up a nearly US$5 billion budget for water infrastructure, including desalination plants and water-recycling plants (WRPs). Furthermore, the government is starting to impose water conservation charges on users consuming more than 1,000 tons of water per month in July and incentivising big industrial water users to use reclaimed and desalinated water to improve the overall water environment in Taiwan.

Being the only water-related tradeshow in Taiwan, TIWW 2022 demonstrates total water solutions and presents global industry trends. In addition, it features six exhibition areas, including “Reclaimed Water & Treatment,” “Transport & Storage,” “Smart Water Technology,” “Water Purification Equipment & Drinking Water,” “Process Control Technology & Automation,” and “Green Infrastructure, Public Sector, & Related Services” to encompass the complete industry chain of water.

Besides rich displays, there are various events such as international forums (organised by the Water Resources Agency (WRA), a division of the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan), one-on-one procurement meetings, new product launches, technical seminars & workshops, and press conferences. These events help exhibitors maximise their global exposure and sales and foster collaboration among exhibitors, visitors and professionals worldwide.
Thus far, the TIWW team has received applications from significant players in both government authority and industry, including WRA of MOEA, the Public Works Department, Taipei City Government, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Chuan Yi Electric Machinery Works Co., Ltd., Envirolink Corporation, and Gungdai Technology Co., Ltd. Furthermore, the Functional Water Association of Taiwan, and the Taiwan Environmental Manufacturers Association (TEMA) will also participate in TIWW 2022 by organising pavilions.
