Sanli to consolidate its operations and house foreign workers in new location in Singapore

Local environmental engineering company in the field of water and waste management Sanli Environmental has completed its acquisition of 22 Chin Bee Drive for S$13.8m to streamline its corporate office and workshops, and provide a centralised accommodation solution for its foreign workforce.

The property is a four-storey height single user factory with a six-storey ancillary office and a five-storey annex building with a workers’ dormitory to house up to 270 foreign workers. With a total gross floor area of about 120,653ft2, it has a remaining 12 years on its lease from Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) which expires on 15 Sep 2035.

In a statement, Sanli CEO and executive director Sim Hock Heng said, “The consolidation of the group’s operations in one location will allow us to address the shortage of dormitory facilities in Singapore and enhance our operating efficiencies while lowering operating costs for the long-term.”

Its operations and maintenance workshop and its magnesium hydroxide slurry manufacturing operation, under its wholly owned subsidiary Mag Chemical, will both be consolidated at the new location. This will enhance the management’s oversight of all the business units, increase operational efficiencies, lower the overall operating costs and reduce its reliance on the dormitory facilities provided by third parties.

Following the acquisition, the company will be disposing of its leasehold properties at 15 Kian Teck Drive and 28 Kian Teck Drive for $3m and $4.95m respectively.
