Taking place on Jul 8, the webinar will highlight business drivers for a connected plant and the use of smarter pumps in the move towards a smart water system

Digital transformation, smart and connected water, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) – these are some of the technologies that have emerged into the water and wastewater space, empowering utilities to build smarter, more sustainable infrastructure with the use of the data generated. Globally, cities and utilities have been leveraging advancements in technology to better design, operate, and maintain today’s smart water plants.
Yet, the water industry is still faced with many challenges such as accelerating water supply and conservation, improving operational efficiency, and integrating new technology into aging infrastructure.
To better support the industry’s digital transformation, Rockwell Automation will be hosting the first part of its Water Wastewater webinar series to share a holistic automation solution that utilities can adopt in their digital transformation journey.
Speaking at the webinar is Abhay Dubey, regional industry manager, Asia-Pacific, Rockwell Automation, who will present on the topic Connected Water Plant – Rockwell Automation’s process solutions for Water and Wastewater. Besides discussing the business drivers that makes the smart or connected plant a business imperative, Dubey will also share how integrated control and information solutions from Rockwell Automation, such as the PlantPAx distributed control system, can bring secure access to the data contained in intelligent assets and then adding context, which ultimately creates actionable information about the happenings throughout the operation.
Another topic that will be discussed at the webinar is pump system, as it is one of the most common applications in the water industry. At the session titled Smart Pump System: Control method for a Smart Pump using VFD application moving towards Industry 4.0, the presenters – Farrukh Islam, power control business lead; and Steve Husein, business lead, power and industrial control Singapore, Rockwell Automation – will highlight some of the key aspects when it comes to choosing a pump system, and how these pumps need to be smarter and more resilient as utilities move forward to the future of smart water system.
Rockwell Automation’s The Next in Digital Transformation for Water Wastewater Industry (Part 1) webinar will be taking place on Thursday, 8 Jul 2021, from 10-11:30am Singapore time.
