The International Desalination Association (IDA) welcomes formal bids to host the 2023 IDA World Congress on Desalination and Water Reuse Solutions starting today and running through October 15, 2020.
For over four decades, the IDA World Congress has played a unique and critical role in fostering innovation, technical development, and business exchange among stakeholders focused on water sustainability. In addition to the four day peer reviewed technical program with parallel tracks, and to further opportunities for collaboration, the World Congress now includes a Leaders’ Summit and the IDA-Affiliate Majlis Business Forums.
The Leaders Summit gathers high-profile executives from various sectors including finance, legal, project development, public and private utilities and technical solution providers to discuss the critical issue facing our industry today. The IDA World Congress experience takes stakeholder exchange to unprecedented heights.
Held every two years, the Congress is widely regarded as a premier event for the global desalination and water reuse community and attended by delegates from over 60 countries.
IDA designates five regions in the process: Europe, Latin America/the Caribbean, the Middle East and Africa, North America, and Pacific and Asia.
Destination considerations are based on a variety of criteria outlined in the bid package. Support from local agencies public sector leaders and the local private sector is highly valued. After an official review and scoring process by the IDA Site Selection Committee, a site inspection is conducted of the top three bid locations. The selection process is concluded with a recommendation to the IDA Board for final selection in April 2021.
The selected bidder of the 2023 World Congress will join an impressive roster of past World Congress hosts from around the world.
