The upcoming 29th edition of the Water Action Platform will be focusing on nature-based solutions in the Asia-Pacific region. The webinar, which will be taking place on 22 Jul 2021, will be led by Yang Villa, head of the Philippines at innovation consultancy Isle.
Nature-based solutions are suggested as actions that protect, sustainably manage and restore natural modified ecosystems. They address societal and environmental challenges effectively and adaptively, simultaneously providing benefits for human well-being and biodiversity.

The webinar will include a technology presentation from Dr Chris Walker from Australian floating wetlands specialist Clarity Aquatic. There will also be an interview with Geoffrey Wilson, senior water resources specialist in the sustainable development and climate change department of the Asian Development Bank.
Maintaining the Water Action Platform’s reputation for covering the issues around COVID-19 affecting the water sector, Dr Jo Burgess, senior technology consultant, Isle, will share the latest findings on COVID-19 vaccines and variants, as well as stories about the post-pandemic new normal from utility chief executives in the Asia-Pacific regions.
