Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Malaysia (NRE) delivers keynote address at ASIAWATER 2018

Thirty per cent bigger than its previous edition, ASIAWATER 2018 featured more than 1,000 exhibitors. The show also saw 11 regional and international pavilions from Austria, Bavaria, China, EU, Illinois from the United States (US), South Korea, and the World Environmental Federation (WEF).

This year, the premier show saw Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Malaysia (NRE), Y. B. Datuk Seri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Bin Tuanku Jaafar, delivered his keynote speech on the third and last day of the event.

“The holding of ASIAWATER 2018 is not only about showcasing the latest products, technologies and innovations related to the water industry,” General Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima Mohd Azumi Bin Mohamed (Rtd), Co-Chairman of UBM Malaysia, said during his welcome address. “It is also about knowledge sharing on sustainability for the future, consistent with principle Number One of the UN Summit 2015 on Sustainable Development which states that human beings are at the centre of concern for sustainable development. They are entitled to a healthy and productive life in harmony.”

The central theme of ASIAWATER 2018, the 10th edition, Partnership for Growth and a Sustainable Water Future, seeks to promote public, private, and community partnership as well as showcase the latest technologies and effective solutions in water management and water security.

ASIAWATER 2018 is still the one-stop regional hub for water experts, industry professionals and major investors from all over the world, and expects more than 19,000 visitors. The three-day event is accompanied with 50 free-to-attend conferences and seminars revolving around the event’s central theme, and the Conferences covers three major topics: Efficient & Sustainable Water Resources, Water Policy & Governance, and Water Resources.
