Surviving three hurricanes
Between 2004 and 2007, several aircraft cargo loaders underwent testing of from six months to three years to evaluate the performance of a Cortec® VpCI® preservation system for extending asset life expectancy. After a variety of VpCI® materials were applied internally, the assets were wrapped in MilCorr® VpCI® Shrink Film and stored outside. Not long after, three hurricanes wreaked havoc across the region with fierce winds and rain. Despite the storms and the massive amounts of saltwater and debris hurled through the air, the MilCorr® VpCI® Shrink Film escaped with a few minor cuts and abrasions. The assets were inspected monthly, and by the end of the trial period, the cargo loaders met all test parameters and continued to perform well.
