SOFREL YDRIX represents LACROIX Sofrel’s know-how in water networks telemetry, its constant listening to the needs of water operators and integration of new technologies. The new product is part of the corporate strategy “Connected Technologies for a Smarter Environment” and is fully integrated into the concept of telemetry 4.0 for water networks.
SMART & MODULAR RTU FOR TELEMETRY AND PROCESS CONTROL OF WATER NETWORKS AND FACILITIES
Designed to meet the needs of water network operators and localities, the SOFREL YDRIX RTU combines integrated 4G communication, cybersecurity and process control in a single product. Equipped with 6DI (Digital Inputs), 2AI (Analog Inputs), 4DO (Digital Outputs) and serial communication ports RS485/RS485i and RS232, making it easy to add Input/Output expansion modules, the SOFREL YDRIX RTU can easily be interfaced with pumps, valves, sensors and modbus equipment present at hydraulic facilities. Fully modular and offering “water business” function blocks, SOFREL YDRIX adapts to all types and sizes of installation:

SIMPLIFYING IMPLEMENTATION AND JOBS IN THE FIELD
Integrators looking for efficient and fast implementation solutions will especially appreciate the 2G/3G/4G modem and the two ethernet ports fully integrated into the product. The setIT configuration software makes it simple and graphical to configure the product, communication modems, modbus interfaces, RTU inputs/outputs and I/O extension modules. For greater efficiency, the software includes a help feature and diagnostic tool to assist the user at each step of the equipment configuration.
A COMPLETE PROCESS CONTROL SUITE AND A VAST LIBRARY OF “WATER USE CASES” FUNCTION BLOCKS
The installation processes are published in a process control suite included in SOFREL YDRIX. The powerful suite is compatible with the IEC 61131-3 standard and offers standard programming languages: ST, Ladder, FBD and SFC (Grafcet). Integrators also have a vast library of function blocks dedicated to the water business (volume calculations, flow rates, PID regulation function, etc.). For wastewater lift stations, in particular, the software has all the functions required to control the pumps and manage pump efficiency. Process control technicians can use a wide range of test, simulation and online debug tools to develop and adapt their programs on site or remotely.
COMPLIANT WITH DNP3 AND IEC-60870-5-104 PROTOCOLS TO INTERFACE WITH ALL SCADA
Interoperability with the TCP/IP networks and operators’ supervisors is guaranteed by the standard communication protocols DNP3 and IEC-60870-5-104 supported by SOFREL YDRIX. Based on these protocols, the RTU fits perfectly into the existing telemetry and SCADA networks and communicates securely with any standardised industrial SCADA software.
SECURE COMMUNICATIONS AND CYBERSECURITY INTEGRATED
SOFREL YDRIX supports VPN server protocols that ensure the cybersecurity of the infrastructure. The RTUs and operational supervisors are authenticated and certified. The data exchanged between its connected systems is fully encrypted. To complete all this, SOFREL YDRIX can interface with a Syslog server that tracks events in an operating log.
The YDRIX RTUs are “full IP”; they communicate via their 2G/3G/4G modems or their ethernet links to the SCADA Central Station. These multiple systems allow for redundancy between the communication media. In the event of a failure on the main telecommunications network, SOFREL YDRIX automatically switches to secondary support and returns to normal when the initial network operates again. Operators can rely on this system to never lose information and to recover all their network data in real time.
M2M COMMUNICATION WITH SOFREL LS/LT DATA LOGGERS
The SOFREL LS and LT data loggers located on sites isolated from the network (reservoirs, manholes for metering or pressure monitoring, etc.) can communicate with a remote SOFREL YDRIX. Either periodically or when a certain level has been exceeded, SOFREL YDRIX receives the information from the data loggers and decides whether to fi ll the reservoir while also taking into account the needs of the network and electricity price periods. They also allow remote control of pressure on the water distribution network.
