According to Global Water Intelligence, Heilongjiang Interchina Water Treatment Co., Ltd, is selling off three of their water utility concessions alongside five wastewater BOTs (build operate transfers) to an undisclosed private equity firm for RMB1.09 billion (US$168 million). Although the portfolio documented a net profit of RMB23.13 million (US$3.57 million) for the year 2016, four of the eight agreements are at a loss.
Although Heilongjiang Interchina has been slowly moving away from the water industry over the past few years, it still holds a water utility concessions as well as 10 wastewater BOTs.
