Grundfos, a global company in advanced pump solutions and water technologies, marked its 30th anniversary of operations in Thailand. This comes amid rising demand for more sustainable products business practices, as Thailand accelerates its plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero by 2065.
Since its establishment in 1993, Grundfos Thailand has sustained its position in the country’s pump and water solutions industry by leveraging its experience and expertise. Over the past three decades, Grundfos Thailand has served customers that range from hotels and industrial sites to agricultural businesses and residences.
The company has also been supporting Thailand in its sustainability ambitions by utilising intelligent technology to deliver water solutions that are energy efficient and reliable, benefitting both customers and the environment as it addresses a growing focus on sustainability among local businesses and consumers.
Recognising how cost can be a barrier for businesses to integrate sustainable solutions, Grundfos Thailand has worked on close to 14 milestone projects under Grundfos Energy Earnings (GEE), a business model where customers upgrade their current equipment with Grundfos’ new energy-efficient solutions without any upfront investment. They are financed through a share of their realised energy savings, delivering a win-win outcome for the businesses and the environment.
Notable local projects include work for global hotel brands, such as Hilton Hua Hin, which achieved 36% in energy reduction with Grundfos solutions, and Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, which similarly reduced their energy use by 35%.
The 14 projects alone have allowed Grundfos Thailand to help local businesses achieve total annual savings of 1,711,300 in kilowatt hours and over 804 tonnes in CO2 emissions per year, with around THB37.4m saved over the programme’s lifespan to date.
Robert Dudzik, country director, Grundfos Thailand, who stepped into his role in January 2023, said, “Over the past three decades, Grundfos has expanded its presence in Thailand while maintaining a focus on helping our customers reach their sustainability goals. We attribute our long-standing venture in Thailand to the country’s conducive business environment, vibrant corporate sector, and diverse talent pool.
“At Grundfos, we tap into digitalisation and intelligent technology to bring energy-efficient water solutions to our customers and the markets they make an impact in. As Thailand continues to work towards its goals in digital transformation and the green transition, we look forward to being a key supporter and catalyst for this growth through our smart, high efficiency solutions.”
As it celebrates its 30th anniversary, Grundfos Thailand reaffirms its commitment to creating a work environment where employees can thrive, in alignment with the values shared by more than 19,000 colleagues worldwide. Through initiatives such as Employee Resource Groups, its volunteer policy, and learning and development programmes, Grundfos continues to strengthen its offerings in diversity, equity and inclusion, community engagement and impact, as well as professional development.
