Gradiant has secured $300m in new contracts from semiconductor manufacturing customers since the start of 2026, reflecting growing demand for water management solutions as water security becomes an increasingly important consideration for semiconductor production.
The contracts cover five fabrication sites in New York, Virginia, Idaho and Utah operated by leading global semiconductor manufacturers. Projects include ultrapure water (UPW) production, high-recovery wastewater treatment, local scrubber reclaim and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems aimed at reducing freshwater demand and increasing water reuse.
Gradiant will provide solutions across the water cycle, from UPW production and wastewater treatment to scrubber reclaim, treatment of complex streams such as hydrofluoric acid wastewater, and ZLD. Several contracts are repeat awards from existing customers, including a second-phase high-recovery wastewater facility at a major semiconductor fab.
The company is also providing scrubber reclaim technology that has previously been deployed for the same customer in Singapore, Taiwan and the US, recovering more than 80% of feed volume.
“Water has become one of the defining constraints on how quickly the world can build the chips powering AI data centres, including high-bandwidth memory,” said Prakash Govindan, chief executive officer of Gradiant. “That’s why leading semiconductor manufacturers keep choosing Gradiant: we own the full water cycle, from ultrapure water to the most complex wastewater streams, as one accountable partner.”
Nish Vora, managing director, Americas, at Gradiant, said the new contracts would support the company’s target of building a $1bn US order book next year.
Gradiant said its semiconductor water solutions are designed to support production capacity while reducing water consumption and environmental impact, as investment in AI infrastructure drives demand for new semiconductor manufacturing capacity.
