Global solutions provider for water and wastewater treatment Gradiant has acquired Hager+Elsässer (H+E) group — a European water solutions provider for end-to-end manufacturing solutions. This acquisition is the company’s first footprint in Europe to deliver solutions for the semiconductor sector.
The announcement is part of a larger transaction where sustainable growth fund (SGF) I and II have sold a majority stake in Aquarion, a Swiss-based industrial water and wastewater treatment company that provides end-to-end solutions to the industrial sector, including semiconductor, energy, F&B, and pharmaceuticals.
H+E group’s expertise in semiconductor and industrial water with Gradiant water treatment solutions are said to address the challenges faced by semiconductor manufacturers. With a century-long history, H+E group has reportedly 30,000 reference installations of water solutions.
“This acquisition aligns with our vision of becoming a solutions provider for the semiconductor industry,” said Prakash Govindan, COO of Gradiant. “H+E group brings experience in ultrapure water (UPW) and wastewater treatment for the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sector, a foundation in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.”
“This is the next step for H+E group industrial wastewater and UPW business to be acquired by Gradiant,” said Jennifer Wick, co-founder of SGF I and II as well as the chairman of the Aquarion board and managing director of H+E group.
