Global leader in Integrated Even Management solutions for the water industry, TaKaDu, announced that Gold Coast, in South East Queensland, Australia, will incorporate TaKaDu’s solution to its network to increase operational efficiency and lower water loss. The third utility in Queensland to deploy TaKaDu, the solution will allow Gold Coast’s water services to optimise the use of data collected from different sources.

The integration of TaKaDu’s solutions in the Gold Coast’s water distribution network is part of a strategic move by Gold Coast to invest in its water distribution network, including increasing the number of district metered areas (DMAs) and the introduction of a new SCADA system.

“We’re collecting a lot of raw data and wanted to find the best way of analysing it and gaining visibility and knowledge to make smarter decisions,” Paul Heaton, Director Gold Coast Water and Waste, said. “With TaKaDu, we’re able to know about events, measure how much water is being used, manage and resolve incidents, such as leaks, more efficiently, and improve network performance on an areas basis.”

“Australian utilities are increasingly at the forefront of water efficiency, using data-driven technology to save this scarce and vital resource,” Amir Peleg, TaKaDu’s Founder & CEO, added. “We’re delighted to announce our fifth Australian customer and are committed to help Gold Coast meet their NRW reduction target and other operational goals.”
