The 2nd MENA Stormwater and Wastewater Forum

26 February, 2025 - 27 February, 2025

A forum of innovation — With the MENA region experiencing rapid urbanisation and the increasing impacts of climate change, the demand for robust stormwater and wastewater management solutions has never been more critical. Investments, such as Saudi Arabia’s US$14.6bn in water projects and Dubai’s goal of 100% recycled water utilisation by 2030, highlight the region’s commitment to water security.

The 2nd MENA Stormwater and Wastewater Forum will address the challenges and opportunities in both stormwater and wastewater management. Aligned with the UAE’s Water Security Strategy 2036, the forum will explore solutions to enhance water resources, reduce consumption, and increase water reuse. Attendees will gain insights into the advancements in wastewater treatment, reuse, and industrial applications. Additionally, the forum will discuss the critical role of stormwater management in building resilient cities, reducing flood risks, and improving water quality.

The forum will facilitate interaction between government officials, industry leaders and technology providers to share information on water solutions in the region. Participants will examine avenues for public-private partnerships (PPPs), financing mechanisms that promote investment in water infrastructure projects and utilisation of smart technologies to enhance the efficiency of water resource management. The event will showcase technologies, policies, and case studies related to stormwater and wastewater management, enabling attendees to identify best practices and implement sustainable solutions. By addressing the interconnected challenges of stormwater and wastewater, the forum will contribute to the MENA region’s vision of a water-secure future.
