Emerson expands AVENTICS XV platform to meet demand for higher airflow in automation

Across factory automation, packaging, water treatment and automotive manufacturing, machine builders are facing a growing challenge: delivering higher airflow within increasingly compact machine designs. While moving to a larger valve platform can address airflow requirements, it can also introduce additional complexity through different interfaces, configurations and changes to established machine architectures.

Emerson has expanded its AVENTICS XV platform with the XV05 High Flow Valve System, designed to provide increased flow capacity while retaining the platform’s existing architecture. Now available globally, the system uses the same electrical connection options, communication protocols and modularity as the standard XV05. Flow capacity has been increased to up to 1,200 L/min, compared with 1,000 L/min for the standard XV05, through larger ports and dedicated high-flow fittings.

The XV05 High Flow can be combined with standard XV05 modules within a single valve system, allowing machine builders to incorporate higher airflow capacity without adopting a separate platform. It is available in front-, top- and bottom-ported configurations, providing flexibility for integration into new and existing machine layouts.

Potential applications include pilot valve systems for process valves in water treatment, package moulding equipment, slicing and cutting units requiring high actuator force, cleaning systems, pneumatically driven winches for oil and gas operations, and automotive manufacturing equipment with high airflow requirements.
