EKKI Group, one of India’s leading pump manufacturers, together with Germany-based sewage technology specialist HOMA Pumpenfabrik, has expanded its joint-venture manufacturing facility, EKKI HOMA, strengthening the production of advanced sewage pumping solutions in Coimbatore, India.
The expansion was recently inaugurated by N K Ranganath, chief adviser to EKKI HOMA, alongside Hans Hoffmann, Marcel Hoffmann, Arumugam P and Kanishka Arumugam, directors of EKKI HOMA.
This development marks an important milestone in Indo-German industrial collaboration and reinforces the partners’ shared ambition to deliver high-performance sewage pumping technologies for India and other emerging markets.
The upgraded facility incorporates advanced pump and motor manufacturing infrastructure, automated testing and balancing systems, and digital assembly capabilities, developed with support from TVS Group, enabling the production of advanced sewage pumps.
The expansion further strengthens EKKI HOMA’s manufacturing footprint in Coimbatore and enhances its capacity to support customers across India and Asia. India’s strong industrial ecosystem — particularly the engineering and manufacturing base in Coimbatore — continues to play a key role in this collaboration, with the region recognised for its expertise in pumps, motors, foundries, machining and engineering talent.
The joint venture also benefits from the advanced manufacturing capabilities of KOOT and access to the Engineering University within EKKI Group, which provides precision-machined components and engineering support for pump and motor systems.

These products are engineered to handle demanding wastewater applications while supporting India’s ‘Make in India for India and the World’ vision through localised manufacturing and advanced engineering.”
With this expansion, EKKI HOMA aims to further strengthen its position as a provider of reliable, high-performance sewage pumping solutions for both domestic and international markets.
