Effective from the 1st of March 2018, Catherine Yang will take over as the Regional Managing Director of the China Sales Region for Grundfos Group, following Humphrey Lau, who is now Regional Managing Director of Grundfos’ Western Europe Sales Region.
She will be based at the Regional Headquarters in Shanghai, China, and will report to Executive Vice President Poul Due Jensen.
Yang holds a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin, Texas, United States (U.S.), and a Master’s Degree in information networking from Carnegie Mellon University. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania, U.S.
With more than 22 years of working experience including 13 years in China, 8 years in the U.S., and a year in the United Kingdom (U.K.), Yang joined Grundfos from a previous position as Managing Director of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration Asia, at United Technologies Corporation (UTC), in Shanghai, China, where she led the Commercial Refrigeration business in Asia with operations in several countries and regions.
At UTC, Yang had a broad range of responsibilities such as leading various business development efforts in Asia as well as establishing and managing joint ventures in China, India, Egypt, and Latin American countries in collaboration with a leading Chinese appliance company. As Managing Director responsible for the Commercial Refrigeration business in Asia, Yang was responsible for sales, service, research and development (R&D), and operations. Furthermore, Yang also has hands-on experience in developing long-term partnerships with Chinese partners and in building business relationships with large appliances and HVAC companies in China.
Additionally, as a U.S. citizen, born and raised in China, Yang is bilingual in Chinese and English.
