Water monitoring solutions company bNovate Technologies has partnered with Malaysian environmental solutions provider Greenson Technology. This agreement marks bNovate’s second major partnership in Asia, following its initial partnership with MattenPlant. It will now focus on enhancing the quality and efficiency of water utilities across Malaysia.
Greenson Technology, led by director Carson Chong, will serve as the exclusive distributor of bNovate’s water monitoring solutions within Malaysia’s utility sector. The partnership is poised to provide Malaysian utilities with the tools to combat the country’s water management issues, especially climate pressures and infrastructure challenges, which experts predict could lead to a nationwide crisis by 2030 if left unaddressed.
Malaysia has been grappling with water management challenges, leading to financial and resource losses. Between 2018 and 2022, the country lost an estimated US$1.7bn due to wasted water, exacerbating the financial strain on an already stressed infrastructure. The imbalance in water supply across states and outdated infrastructure reportedly complicate the situation, with some regions facing potential water shortages during dry seasons.
“Malaysia’s water infrastructure is at a critical juncture — the inefficiencies in the current system are national concerns that could hinder our country’s development if not addressed promptly,” said Chong. “Our partnership with bNovate Technologies is a step toward equipping Malaysian utilities with the tools to monitor, manage, and improve water quality and distribution. We are confident this collaboration will benefit the Malaysian public and help mitigate the impending water crisis.”
