Bentley Systems Year in Infrastructure 2017 Conference will host global infrastructure leaders

Bentley Systems, Inc., one of the world’s leading providers of comprehensive software solutions for advancing infrastructure, will host the Year in Infrastructure 2017 Conference in Asia for the very first time. Taking place from the 10th to the 12th of October at the Marina Bay Sands Sands Expo and Convention Centre, a world-class hotel and conference facility in Singapore, and one of Asia’s most iconic buildings. Singapore, a bustling metropolis, is recognised around the world for its Building Information Modelling (BIM) advancements and innovation in infrastructure.

“I have long admired Singapore for its innovative use of technology in the delivery and operation of infrastructure, and now it is leading the world with its BIM advancements,” CEO of Bentley Systems, Greg Bentley, said. “In 2015, Singapore was designated the most ‘Tech-Ready Nation’ by The World Economic Forum’s Global Information Technology Report. In addition to Marina bay Sands’ unrivalled conferencing facilities and luxurious accommodations is its spectacular structural design and engineering. We are proud to note that this extraordinary building was structurally engineered using Bentley Systems software.”

Marina Bay Sands’ structural design was done by Arup, and won the 2010 Be Inspired Award for Innovation in Structural Engineering.

Over the years, Bentley Systems has contributed to the advancement of infrastructure in Southeast Asia (SEA) through numerous projects. Most recently, the Singapore Land Authority utilised Bentley software to develop and maintain a high-resolution 3D model of the entire nation as part of its Smart Nation initiative.

The Year in Infrastructure 2017 Conference will include a new Alliance Partner Pavilion that will feature live application and technology presentations from Microsoft, Siemens, Topcon, as well as Bureau Veritas. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Bentley’s Alliance Partners to learn how they provide advanced solutions, from connecting workflows for constructioneering, all the way to enabling the digital enterprise by supporting open access to the Internet of Things (IoT) and offering a best-in-class cloud strategy that encompasses private and public clouds and on-premises deployments.

“Several of Singapore’s iconic infrastructure, such as Marina Bay Sands, were designed and engineered using Bentley solutions. Therefore, it is fitting that Singapore has been chosen as the first Asian destination to host The Year in Infrastructure 2017 Conference. Additionally, Singapore recently topped Mercer’s 2017 Best City infrastructure rankings out of more than 200 global cities,” Jeannie Lim, executive director of conventions, meetings and inventive travel at the Singapore Tourism Board, a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry Singapore, said. “We look forward to welcoming Bentley colleagues, global industry thought leaders, journalists, and all conference delegates to Singapore to connect, share, and learn best practices. We hope that participants will have an enriching experience at the conference and take time to enjoy Singapore’s sights – from the historical National Gallery Singapore to the Gardens by the Bay – and experience the city’s culinary charm through our street food and Michelin-starred restaurants.”
