Jan Ø. Jørgenson, the Danish men’s singles badminton current world number two has teamed up with Grundfos, leveraging on his popularity in China to show installers and homeowners the advantages of perfect water pressure. And perfect water pressure is what Grundfos’ new product, SCALA2, can offer – no matter how many showers and taps are running simultaneously.
“It is not difficult to see why badminton and Grundfos go so well together: [We] share a sense of fair play, ambition and a desire to succeed – and these are values Jan Ø. Jørgenson brings to the badminton court,” Group Director, Branding at Grundfos, Gitte Kirkeby Søe, said. “Our focus with this agreement is the launch of SCALA2, enabling us to reach a huge audience in China via the two international tournaments; Denmark Open in October and China Open in November. SCALA2 is an important product for the Asian and Chinese markets, where the need to reduce water and energy consumption is urgent.”
And Jørgenson is a high achiever, indeed. A three-time Danish champion, 2014 European Champion and Indonesian Open Champion along with an array of Super Series titles, Jørgenson is the perfect candidate to help Grundfos get their message across not just in China, but Asia as well, where badminton is a popular sport.
“When I’m competing on the international circuit against many of the finest players in the world, I need to stay true to my values and who I am,” Jørgenson said. “My sense of purpose and drive to succeed is balanced by a feeling of shared responsibility to the world we live in. These values are shared by Grundfos, and I am proud to support Grundfos in launching a product that helps resolve many of the important issues we face with water and energy use in the world today.”
