In three days, over 80,000 water professionals visited over 2,000 exhibitors at Aquatech China, the leading trade show for water professionals in Shanghai.
Annette Bos, Group Director Water at RAI Amsterdam spoke at a crowded opening, about how crucial and urgent water issues are around the world and linked them to the constantly growing opportunities for water related companies in China. Exhibitors included both Chinese and international market leaders such as 3M, DOW, EcoWater, Grunbeck, Nitto, Iwaki, Kinetico, LG Sonic and Pentair.
“If nothing else, its sheer size makes Aquatech China a diamond in the portfolio of Aquatech Global Events,” says Aquatech China Exhibition Manager, Dorien Sibbel. “But it is not just the size. It is the water industries East meets West where knowledge and technical solutions exchange hands to the benefit of both. We are extremely proud that for numerous international companies, Aquatech China is the stepping stone into this huge market and the beginning of many successful business stories in China.”

Industrial users inspire each other
Amongst the Industrial Water Leaders Forum keynotes were Dr. Raj V. Rajan Vice President of Ecolab, Christopher Gasson of GWI and Henry Zhang of IKEA. Key drivers of the conference were reducing the use of water and finding value in waste water and the policies and ambitions of especially industrial water users in achieving both. The forum was jointly hosted by Ecolab, Global Water Intelligence (GWI), Water Stewardship Australia (AWS Asia Pacific) and Aquatech Global Events under this year’s theme of “Wastewater Recycle and Reuse”. China Water Risk (CWR) supported the organisation of the event.

The Wetskills Young Water Professionals Programme included a variation of key notes, personal stories, innovations and cooperation. International young professionals gathered at the vibrant hub.
