PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, has recognised 37 organisations for excellence in water efficiency, conservation and advocacy across three award categories: the Singapore Watermark Awards, Water Efficiency Awards and Water Efficiency Awards (Projects).
The recipients span sectors including data centres, wafer fabrication, healthcare, education, hotels, retail and commercial buildings. The awards were presented at the Singapore Watermark Awards 2026 ceremony at Gardens by the Bay’s Flower Field Hall, where Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Sustainability and the Environment Goh Hanyan delivered the opening address.
Four organisations, selected from 33 nominations, received the Singapore Watermark Awards, PUB’s highest accolade for water stewardship:
- Amazon Web Services Singapore (AWS Singapore)
- Institute of Technical Education (ITE)
- Micron Technology (Micron)
- National University Health System (NUHS)
The recipients demonstrate how organisations across different sectors can address water challenges through leadership, innovation and partnerships. This year also marks several firsts for the awards. NUHS is the first healthcare organisation to receive the award, while ITE is the first entire campus cluster to be recognised. AWS Singapore, a repeat winner, is the first organisation since the award’s return to receive all three awards in a single year.
PUB also presented Water Efficiency Awards to 34 recipients for strong water-efficiency performance in their respective sectors. Four other recipients received Water Efficiency Awards (Projects) for initiatives that improved water reuse, reduced consumption, optimised operations or eliminated wastage.
Ong Tze-Ch’in, chief executive of PUB, said: “With climate change bringing greater uncertainty to rainfall patterns and rising non-domestic water demand, strengthening water resilience requires both sustained infrastructure investments and responsible water use across all industry sectors. This year’s award recipients show us how innovation and water efficiency can go hand in hand with business performance, while contributing to Singapore’s long-term water security.”
By recognising role models and sharing best practices, PUB aims to encourage more organisations to incorporate water efficiency into their operational and investment decisions. Strengthening Singapore’s water resilience requires collective action from businesses, households and the government.
Supporting innovation in water-intensive sectors
PUB is also strengthening partnerships across the water ecosystem to accelerate innovation in industrial water management. At Singapore International Water Week in Jun 2026, PUB announced an initial $12m in RIE2030 funding to support research and development in industrial water solutions.
PUB has brought together research institutes, technology providers and industry end-users through Industrial Water Solutions Innovation Ecosystem Alliances for two priority sectors: wafer fabrication and data centres. The Separation Technologies Applied Research and Translation (START) Centre and the Sustainable Tropical Data Centre Testbed (STDCT), hosted at the National University of Singapore’s College of Design and Engineering, have been selected as anchor research partners for the respective sectors.
The centres will coordinate and integrate demand-driven R&D to address water challenges in the two sectors, with both programmes set to launch open innovation calls to draw on expertise and solutions from the wider research and industry ecosystem.
For wafer fabrication, START will explore solutions to increase water recycling, treat complex effluents and recover valuable resources such as chemicals and metals. For data centres, STDCT will focus on validating water-saving cooling technologies under tropical conditions and developing new benchmarks for water- and energy-efficient data-centre cooling.
