Ramboll has been appointed for two major projects in Romania’s water sector, one of which is currently the largest of its kind in Europe.

In the first, the firm will be assisting the country’s largest water operator Raja Constanta in the extension and rehabilitation of key water supply systems, including the rehabilitation, modernisation and extension of wastewater collection systems and wastewater treatment plants. The project, the largest of its kind in Europe currently, will cover the counties of Constanta, Ialomita, Calarasi, Dambovita and Brasov.

In the second project, Ramboll will be assisting regional water operator Aquaserv to upgrade the water and wastewater infrastructure in Mures county, central Romania. Ramboll has been contracted by Aquaserv to conduct a feasibility study (including a cost benefit analysis), as part of the local strategy for the development of the water and wastewater sector in order to reach the targets assumed by Romania through the Accession Treaty to the European Union.
