Duperon Corporation has been awarded an Economic Excellence Award for outstanding contribution to the economy of Saginaw, Michigan, in 2018. The Economic Excellence Awards recognise Saginaw County development projects that were assisted by Saginaw Future Inc. The awards celebrate the growth of local and regional economy that includes job creation and retention, new investment and community development. Duperon was presented with the award at a luncheon at the Horizon Conference Center, Saginaw on February 22.

“We are grateful to be so closely connected to the Saginaw community,” said Duperon President Mark Turpin. “We fundamentally believe that business is a force for good. This award is a special honour because it acknowledges the impact that business can have on the community. A business provides a job and that job brings the dignity that comes from providing for ourselves and our families through the efforts of our own labour. But the impact goes far beyond the individual to all that he or she touches, blessing our community and regions. We have always been humbled to be engaged in this aspect of business and it truly drives us here at Duperon.”

Duperon qualified for the Economic Excellence Award because it received a 2018 Michigan State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) grant that supported the company’s exhibit at the Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exhibition and Conference - the largest water quality event in the world. Participating aided Duperon in its efforts to expand its presence in international markets. The company also added eight employees in 2018.

“Saginaw Future is fortunate to work with innovative companies like Duperon Corporation,” said Communications & Marketing Director Greg LaMarr.  “We appreciate their commitment to Saginaw County as Duperon continues to grow and thrive.”
